A 12lb fish was thrown onto a golf course by huge waves in Wales during the UK storm.

The giant cod was discovered on the seaside golf course in Porthcawl, South Wales.

Peter Evans, who works for the Royal Porthcawl Golf Club, told The Sun that he was clearing up after the bad weather when he saw the three-foot fish lying on the third hole.

The 49-year-old said: "It was a decent size - we didn't weigh it, but it looked over 12lbs. I've been the golf pro here for 20 years and never seen anything like it."

According to the Daily Mail, the fish was washed to the shore after massive waves struck the town.

In October 2013, a two-foot leopard shark was rescued after it fell from the sky onto a California golf course.
