Video: 'Meteor' lights up night sky over America's Midwest

Hundreds of people in America's Midwest have reported seeing a huge fireball in the sky on Thursday.

CCTV footage shows the fiery object streaking across the sky.

ITV reports that the American Meteor Society has received over 700 reports of the fireball over the border of Iowa and Minnesota.

The Society says witnesses reported an object "as bright as the Sun that fragmented into many parts".

Experts agree that it was likely a meteor entering and burning up in our atmosphere, Liberty Voice reports.
