Motorway driver committed sex act at the wheel

Hangover impairs driving ability

A man has been convicted of outraging public decency after being caught performing a sex act on himself while driving completely naked.
Neal Marshall, of Strawberry Green, Whitby, was spotted pleasuring himself by a passing HGV driver, while he was at the wheel of his Ford Escort on the M56 near Chester.

The shocked trucker noted down Marshall's number plate, which police then used to track him down.

When interviewed by police over the incident, Marshall simply answered no comment.

Chester Magistrates' Court heard that Marshall already had a previous conviction for outraging public decency in 2008, and handed him down a 12-month community order and a 12-month supervision order, after the 49-year-entered a guilty plea.

He was also ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £60 victim surcharge.

The court heard that Marshall had ended up in the compromising position after getting carried away on a steamy messaging conversation on his mobile phone.

Adrian Evans, defending, said: "This does not excuse his actions but it goes a way to explain why he was seen doing it," reported the Chester Chronicle.

"He bitterly regrets his actions. He never intended to be seen by a member of the public."
