Injured walker rescued in Lake District

A woman who was injured while descending the Lake District's Red Pike was stretched from a fell in a six-hour rescue operation.

Grough reports that the woman slipped as she was coming down Red Pike.

Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team was called out and she was stretchered down to the Overbeck Bridge car park.

A 51-year-old walker was rescued from a fell in the Lake District recently after slipping and injuring her leg.

According to the York Press, the woman was on Burnbank Fell and was rescued by 24 volunteer members of the Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team.
