Man fell 500ft to his death trying to take sunset photo on Mount Snowdon
An amateur photographer died after plunging 500ft off a mountain top in Wales as he tried to capture the sunset from Mount Snowdon.
Gerry Coyle, 65, was tragically killed in the fall last October.
The Daily Mail reports that an inquest heard how he set up his tripod on the peak following a two-week photographic tour of Britain's west coast.
Mr Coyle died as he tried to capture a dramatic photo and walked off a path.
His body was found six months later in a gully.
The father-of-two, from Rugby, Warwickshire, had sent a text message to his wife Pat saying he had arrived safely at the top of the 3,500ft peak, the Daily Mirror reports.
A search operation, involving an RAF helicopter and dogs, was launched when Mr Coyle failed to return to his hotel for the night.
