Savers 'raid fund before rainy day'

More than one in four savers has raided their "rainy day" fund when there was no financial emergency, research by Treasury-backed NS&I has found.

Financial provider NS&I's quarterly savings survey found that 27% of those who said they had some emergency cash put by had broken into it for no pressing reason.
