Man hit by train while being chased by police
A man being chased by police in London was killed when he was hit by a train near Willesden Green station.
The unidentified man in his 20s was stopped by officers in Christchurch Avenue on Tuesday afternoon as they believed he had drugs.
Metropolitan Police told the BBC that he fled and was being "pursued and observed" for about 40 minutes.
A police helicopter and dog unit were involved in the search for the man, who ran into gardens, climbed over fences and got onto railway lines.
He was hit by a train near Dartmouth Road at 17:12 and died at the scene.
According to Metro, the man had not been arrested.
Officers await a formal identification and confirmation that his next of kin have been informed.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission is investigating and officers from the Directorate of Professional Standards have been informed.
