Motorcyclist killed in crash with bus in Snowdonia

A 71-year-old motorcyclist has been killed in a crash with a bus in Snowdonia.

The incident occurred at 12.40pm on Sunday on the A4086 at Nant Peris.

According to the BBC, a Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said an emergency ambulance and the Helimed helicopter were sent to the scene and the man was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor.

The collision happened near a youth hostel that lies at the top of the Llanberis Pass, an area that is popular with walkers and climbers all through the year.

A North Wales Police spokeswoman told Wales Online: "The incident involves a motorbike and a bus. The road has been closed while emergency crews deal with the incident. Sadly the biker was pronounced dead."
