Third generation Audi-TT spied testing
Depending on your feelings towards the current generation TT, Audi fans may be slightly disappointed by the rather revolutionary rather than evolutionary styling changes.
The thin layer of swirling camouflage reveals that the third generation will look very similar to current models.
But the major changes will occur under the skin as the next generation will be based on the Volkswagen Group's MQB platform – a basic chassis building block that is used in models such as the Audi A3, VW Golf and various Skodas.
Rumours suggest that the new TT will be available with a number of engines options, including a 1.8-litre TFSI with 178bhp and a 2.0-litre TSFI with output of 218bhp and a top-of-the-range TTS version that kicks out just shy of 300bhp.
A possible TT-RS iterant could also be on the cards - these potent versions likely feature to a turbocharged five-cylinder engine that produces around 378bhp.
The tattooed model you see below will undergo various tweaks before it goes on sale but the video at least gives an insight into how it will sound at full chat.
