Cleaners discover gold worth £1.17 million in plane toilet
280 gold bars worth £1.17million were found by cleaners in a plane toilet at an airport in Bangladesh.
According to Demotix, police said cleaners found the gold bars in a Fly Dubai plane that landed in Dhaka at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport from Dubai on Tuesday.
The Daily Mail reports that custom officials said they knew the bars were on board and believe the person carrying them sensed a police presence and abandoned the gold in the toilet of the aircraft before leaving.
Officials recovered about 35kg of gold from the dustbin of the toilet in a wrapped packet.
Senior assistant superintendent of police, Ehteshamul Haque said they could not arrest any suspect.
