Video: Harrowing moment a group of bikers chase down and injure Range Rover driver
Shocking footage captured by a helmet-mounted camera surfaced online yesterday that shows the moment a Range Rover driver is surrounded by a pack of motorcyclists and chased through the streets of New York.> Police have revealed that the confrontation began when the 4x4 driver allegedly hit a motorcyclist and drove through a crowd of parked bikes.
Fearing for the safety of his wife and young child, Alexian Lien nailed the accelerator and sped away from the crowd of bikers.
The video footage below was captured by one of the motorcyclists in the crowd and it clearly shows the bikers driving erratically and surrounding the Range Rover.
Then, one brave (or stupid) rider slams on his brakes in front of the big British car, apparently forcing Mr Lien to clip the back of the bike.
This enrages the group of two-wheeled enthusiasts even more and they begin to give chase, speeding through New York traffic and at times getting close enough to the Range Rover to make gestures and intimidate the driver.
At one point, Mr Lien is forced to stop at a motorway exit so the motorcyclists seize the opportunity to confront the driver. One biker manages to pull the door open before the Range Rover makes an evasive manoeuvre and accelerates away.
It's not long before Mr Lien and his family are caught once again by the bikers in pursuit and crawling Manhattan traffic eventually forces the car to stop.
The group take the opportunity to vent their frustration and one biker takes off his helmet and begins to smash the window of the Range Rover while others jump in to help.
The video stops at this point but police later confirmed that Mr Lien was taken to hospital to be treated for lacerations to his face and body and that no other injuries were reported from the incident.
A motorcyclist that goes by the name of GIXXARDR posted the video on Liveleaks, claiming that one biker had been killed, which the police said was not true.
