Updated

A video posted on YouTube shows the moment a pilot was forced to abort landing a plane at Taiwan Airport as powerful Typhoon Usagi blew the aircraft around the runway.

In the footage, an Eva Air flight is seen landing after a bumpy approach to the runway, before another plane approaches the runway but has to level out.

The pilot is forced to pull the aircraft upwards to circle away and make a second attempt at landing.

Winds exceeding 163mph have battered Taiwan, Philippines, Hong Kong and China since the weekend.

At least 25 people have died in China and 20 more in the Philippines.
