Drunk passenger fined for swearing at children on flight

A passenger has been fined after getting drunk on a flight and swearing loudly at children.

Amarjit Gill pleaded guilty to being drunk on a Thomas Cook flight from Tenerife to London Gatwick on 23 August.

This is Sussex reports that David Holman, prosecuting, said: "During the flight a man reported hearing a male swear while sitting behind his eight-year-old.

"He was asked to keep quiet but continued to swear loudly, which was also heard by the man's six-year-old daughter.

"Cabin crew were called and when the male went into the toilet they took away from him a half-finished bottle of whisky."

He was also heard saying he would "knock someone out".

When the plane landed, police arrested Gill.

The 43-year-old from Southall, London was ordered to pay a £400 fine, £200 to the two children and £85 court costs.
