Don't pack the BBQ away just yet - weather forecasters are predicting another blast of heat this weekend.

The last few days have seen temperatures drop and strong winds and heavy rain set in, creating a distinctly wintry feel.

But, according to the BBC forecast, the mercury is set to rise to around 20C in London on Sunday, with some areas of Scotland even seeing highs of 23C.

Leon Brown, meteorologist at The Weather Channel, told Aol Travel: "We'll see a fine weekend for much of England and Wales and becoming warmer with lighter winds as high pressure builds, although chilly at night and fog risk.

"More cloudy over the north west with perhaps a little light rain for a time, but warm in eastern Scotland. Inverness to Speyside and Aberdeen all have a good chance of reaching 20 to to 21C, perhaps even 22 to 23C."

The miserable weather of this week will start to improve on Friday. Leon added: "From the end of the week, the pattern will change and the jet stream will take a more northerly track. Higher pressure will then build over the UK to bring a fine weekend, especially to the south.

"Temperatures back up to normal with lighter winds, reaching 17C to 19C on Saturday and 18C to 21C in England and Wales on Sunday."

And next week will stay reasonably pleasant, said Leon: "Next week fine, dry and settled under high pressure. Temperatures a little above normal by day but chilly at night and still some overnight mist and fog."
