Carly McBride, a 26-year-old Post Office manager, pleaded guilty to taking £31,800 from work, sabotaging tills, tampering with computers and writing cheques for thousands of pounds in order to fund a lavish lifestyle. When she was questioned by colleagues as to how she could afford it all, she said she had cancer, in order to win their sympathy.
