Post Office manager stole £32k: used cancer lies to cover up

Carly McBride, a 26-year-old Post Office manager, pleaded guilty to taking £31,800 from work, sabotaging tills, tampering with computers and writing cheques for thousands of pounds in order to fund a lavish lifestyle. When she was questioned by colleagues as to how she could afford it all, she said she had cancer, in order to win their sympathy.

And she's not the first person in a position of trust to have found the temptation too much.
