A man has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter after a pedestrian was mowed down by a HGV while supposedly fleeing an attacker.

The incident, which occurred in Quarry Bank, West Midlands, saw a 26-year-old man running from a 'hammer-wielding' attacker, only to stumble into the road where he was hit by a truck.
