A man who allegedly took photos of an eight-year-old boy in the men's toilets at Disney's Animal Kingdom in Florida has been arrested for voyeurism of a minor.

According to NBC, 59-year-old Joseph Cionzynski is in prison and faces the charge after the incident at Disney World earlier in August.

Click Orlando reports that the boy told police he went into a cubicle and sat on the toilet. He said he saw a "guy" in the cubicle to the right stick his hand with a mobile phone under the partition and take several photos of him.

The child immediately pulled up his trousers and ran outside to tell his mother.

She told police officers she was outside waiting for her son to come out when he came running out crying.

They both returned to the toilets and the boy pointed to the man, identifying him by his shoes.

Cionzynski was escorted by security when he stepped out of the toilets.

He told police that "he totally understood and was willing and eager to assist in any way he could to resolve the situation which was just a minor misunderstanding."

He voluntarily handed over his phone and police said they found no photos of the boy.
