Barcelona named best holiday destination for British 'cougars'

Older women looking to hook up with younger men (aka cougars) have revealed that Barcelona is the best holiday destination to do it in.

A poll of 1,043 women carried out by dating site CougarLife.com showed that the luxury W Hotel Barcelona topped the best place to stay for mature ladies on the prowl, gaining 19 per cent of the votes.

According to Orange UK, in second place was the Gran Hotel Atlantis Bahia Real, in Fuerteventura, with the Nissi Beach Resort, Cyprus, in third, the Blue Sea Beach Resort in Faliraki took up the fourth spot and Sharm el Sheikh's Four Seasons came in fifth.

According to the Daily Mail, Miss CougarLife.com Marlo Jordan said: "For cougars like myself who enjoy flirting with young attractive men, Spain is one fabulous playground so I'm not surprised it took the number one spot for women looking for their dream cub.

"We like luxury, spas, beach-front cocktails and handsome Mediterranean men who appreciate mature woman and are not shy of expressing themselves."

And the survey showed they're not just looking for a nice chat. Just over 70 per cent said they were looking to 'hook up' with a younger man on holiday, with 53.1 per cent targeting hotel staff, and 51.6 per cent looking to tennis or golf instructors for some outside-hours action.
