'42% of tenants former home owners'

Two-fifths of rental sector tenants who have retired are former home owners, many of whom have been forced to sell up to pay off debts or boost their income according to research.

Financial concerns were given as the main motivation for stepping off the property ladder for the 42% of renting retirees who used to own their own home, Prudential said.
