The body of a woman in her 30s has been discovered by a walker on a beach in East Lothian, Scotland.

According to the Daily Record, police were called out to the beach at Aberlady, near Craigielaw Point and Gullane Beach, at around 2pm on Tuesday.

The BBC reports that it is thought the woman's body had washed ashore. Investigations are ongoing, but the death is not currently being treated as suspicious.

A spokesman told STV Local: "We are involved in an incident after we received a report about a woman's body in the water."

Back in early June, the body of a woman was found on Winterton Beach, near Great Yarmouth.

In April, the body of a man was found washed up on a beach in Dublin. The male, thought to be in his late 20s, was also found by a walker at a beach on Bull Island.
