A disabled man in an electric wheelchair had a lucky escape when it rolled onto the subway tracks in Washington DC.
Surveillance cameras from the Fourth of July station show how the man was saved in the nick of time by a fellow traveller, who leapt down to pull him away from danger.
The rescuer, a soldier named Spc Menhaca, was joined by two other passengers who also risked their lives to rescue the disabled man.
Spc Menhaca may received the Soldier's Medal for his bravery, reports the Daily Mail.
