'Stop frying eggs on the ground", tourists at Death Valley told

Updated

Tourists at Death Valley, aka the "hottest place on earth", are being urged to stop frying eggs on the ground because they are destroying the environment.

Death Valley is one of the USA's most famous national parks, and tourists have been turning up to experience the record temperatures and fry eggs on the ground for years.

The Daily Telegraph reports that the practice has got so out of hand that park employees are pleading with them to stop.

The park's Facebook page says: "Death Valley maintenance crew has been busy cleaning up eggs cracked directly on the sidewalk, including egg cartons and shells strewn across the parking lot.

"This is your national park. Please put trash in the garbage or recycle bins provided and don't crack eggs on the sidewalks."
