Two teenagers dead, two injured and four arrested in Sussex car crash

Two teenage boys have been killed in a tragic accident after the car they were travelling in slammed into a tree in Horsham, West Sussex.

According to the Daily Mail, the 18-year-old driver of a silver Peugeot 306 was declared dead at the scene of the accident, and a 19-year-old passenger was taken to hospital but later died.

The victims have not yet been named.

Two other passengers, an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl, were seriously injured and are being treated at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.

The force of the impact catapulted the vehicle's engine and debris into the road, according to local news reports. The road was closed for nine hours as emergency services attended the scene.

Sergeant Alan Spicer from Sussex Police told the BBC, "All fatal road traffic collisions are tragic but even more so when it involves young people just starting out in life".

The police are urging anyone who saw the crash to contact them urgently.

Four teenage boys in an Opel Astra, which was believed to be following the Peugeot, were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, reports The Sun.
