Teenager caught on the phone at wheel of £300,000 Rolls-Royce Phantom

Most teenage boys have plenty to worry about. Whether it's panicking about the amount of gel in their hair, fretting over a breaking voice or stressing about the strange fluff sprouting from their top lip, those years can be painful.

Spare a thought for Aleem Iqbal, who reached a new level of woe when he was caught using his mobile phone while at the wheel of a £300,000 Rolls-Royce Phantom.
Aleem, who goes by the name of 'Lord Aleem' online, was fined £35 and given three points on his licence after police caught him nattering on his mobile. He was also ordered to pay £40 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

But the £95 ordeal isn't likely to faze 'Lord Aleem', whose father Saleem Iqbal runs a company that offers luxury cars for hire at Yardley in the West Midlands.

Aleem's Twitter account, in the name of 'Lord Aleem', bears the slogan: "You buy a Ferrari when you want to be somebody, u buy a Lamborghini when you are somebody", and is used to post pictures and boasts about his expensive cars.

Amazingly, Mr Iqbal said his son was driving his own car and not a company vehicle at the time, and that he was only 18 and had made a "simple mistake".

"He was driving his own car and was on his mobile phone, that's it really," he said.

"It was short and simple. It could happen to anyone, it could happen to you, me or anyone else.

"He's a young man, he'll learn in time."
