A gigantic wasp nest with more than one million yellow jackets inside was found by an entomologist in Florida.

John Simkins told WFLA: "I have never seen a nest this large in my entire life.

"This is the prehistoric nest from the dinosaur ages."

According to Huffington Post, Simkins was called to privately-owned land in Central Florida to handle the yellow jacket nest that measured more than six feet tall and eight feet wide.

"To put it into perspective, a nest we deal with on a day to day basis might have a thousand to five thousand," he said.

Simkins, who runs pest removal company Insect I.Q. managed to walk away with just one sting on his chin.

"We definitely did save lives," he told WFLA.

"If somebody comes across this, you're not going to get away. You can see in the video, I run a hundred yards away and I still have thousands of yellow jackets chasing me, all over me, trying to kill me."
