Two-headed terrapin looked after by teacher
A primary school teacher is raising a tiny two-headed turtle at his home in Qingdao, northern China's Shandong Province.
Xu Ren, a science teacher at Yongning Road Elementary School, was given the unusual turtle by a friend.
"He knows me loving nature and sciences, so he gave me this newly hatched turtle," Ren told Rex Features.
Due to the size of the two heads, the turtle can't contract its dual head into the shell, but the two heads can eat together.
Two-headed turtles are rare but not unknown. They have been discovered in South Africa, Costa Rica, Singapore and in 2009 a three-headed turtle was found in Taiwan.
