A 19-year-old British tourist from Wales has died on holiday in Bulgaria after falling from his hotel balcony.

Liam Davies was on holiday with his girlfriend in the Black Sea resort of Sunny Beach when the incident occurred.

The Sun reports that Liam fell from his 10th floor hotel room balcony at 3.45am on Sunday when he went inside to get money to pay for a taxi.

According to the BBC, his holiday operator Thomas Cook said their thoughts were with his family, "and our team in resort are providing their total support during this very difficult time".

The news comes just a couple of weeks after a British holidaymaker was seriously injured in a balcony fall in the popular holiday resort of Magaluf in Majorca.

It is believed that Sean Kelly, 24, was climbing balconies in the early hours of the morning when he fell.
