You'd be forgiven for thinking you were sea-ing things - but this cliff-top cruise ship hotel in South Korea is the real deal, and a world first.

The Sun Cruise Resort and Yacht in Jeongdongjin, South Korea, has become one of the country's biggest tourist destinations, and is described by Visit Korea as "the world's first on-land cruise themed resort".

Suffer with sea sickness but always wanted to go on a cruise? This is the perfect spot for you.

The hotel and resort boasts two restaurants, a nightclub, a revolving bar, a wedding venue, and even a golf range.

Its 211 rooms feature port holes to give an authentic experience, and the sounds of waves crashing against the boat plays out over loudspeakers, according to The Sun.

According to Visit Korea, the hotel really is a specially designed cruise ship on land.

The site says: "It is 165 metres in length, 45 metres in height, and 30,000 tons in weight. The Sun Cruise has 211 rooms, both condominium and hotel style, a Western and a Korean restaurant, revolving sky lounge, a night club, a karaoke, and sea water pool. It also offers six state-of-the-art function rooms for seminars and workshops."

The resort gets four out of five stars on Tripadvisor, with one traveller from Northern Ireland writing: "The sight of a cruise ship on the top of a cliff is breathtaking! You can hardly imagine it is possible, so staying here is a very unique experience.

"The piped soundtrack of bird calls and breaking waves adds to the illusion of being at sea. Thankfully though, the boat does not rock!"
