Labour cuts could hit pensioners' TV licences

Fears that wealthier pensioners could lose their free TV licence were sparked yesterday when shadow chancellor Ed Balls hinted that they may be targeted for cuts under a Labour government. In an interview with BBC Newsnight, Mr Balls hinted that it was "pragmatic" to continue offering the benefit universally.
