Towie star Lauren Pope 'punched in face' by man on holiday in Marbella

Towie star Lauren Pope has revealed she was punched in the face in a random attack by a man while in Marbella.

The cast of The Only Way Is Essex were in Marbella filming scenes for the new series, and Lauren was in a nightclub with friends when she was attacked.

According to Digital Spy, the blonde star required emergency hospital treatment for her injuries after the incident.

Explaining what happened, she told the Mirror: "Diags went in to get our coats, and I was waiting with Chloe [Sims] and Joey [Essex] when some guy started throwing food at us.

"We asked what he was doing and he came over and started laughing. I told him to go away and he punched me in the face."

She added: "It's scary, you have no idea what people are capable of."

The reality TV personality also told the Daily Star that she had damaged a tooth: "I had to get one veneer replaced and all the inside of my mouth was bruised. My tongue is swollen and black because I bit it when he smacked me."

According to the Daily Mail, Lauren did not report the incident to the police, and the scenes will not be shown on the programme because she was enjoying a night out with friends off-camera.
