British toddler drowns in 'tragic accident' at Turkish holiday resort

A three-year-old toddler drowned at a spa resort in Turkey on Tuesday.

Callum Salmond, from Fife, Scotland, was found dead at the all-inclusive Voyage Belek Spa complex in Antalya.

STV reports that Callum was on holiday with his mother Donna Ness, 31, father Graeme Salmond, 32, and nine-month-old brother Max.

Family friend Michelle Selby told the Daily Record: "It is beyond tragedy. It is every parent's nightmare."

An investigation into Callum's death has been launched and police said his parents had not been involved in the incident.

Shocked parents at the nursery Callum attends in Kirkcaldy were informed of the "tragic accident" after the head teacher received a letter.

A Foreign Office spokesman told The Scottish Sun: "We are aware of the death of a British national in Antalya, Turkey, on May 28.

"We are providing consular assistance to the family at this difficult time."
