Top 5: Celebrity first cars
The reason for that whopping sum is because A) it belonged to one of the most famous pop singers of all time and B) it is a very rare Ferrari 330GT 2+2.
Even the most famous of faces can't claim to have owned an Italian supercar as their first runaround.
Take a look at our Top Five below that lists celebrities and their sometimes not-so glamorous first cars.
1. Rupert Grint - 1974 Bedford Mr Whippy Van
Despite being worth a reported £24 million thanks to his role as Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter films, actor Rupert Grint decided to splash his cash on a childhood dream. Grint revealed it took him two attempts to pass his test but when he did, the ice cream van was his first purchase. He told the Daily Mail: "Not long after I first got it, I pulled into a pub to do a U-turn and there were eight kids with their pocket money out, hoping to buy a 99 or whatever. But I had nothing to give them. I've learnt my lesson since then."
2. Wayne Rooney – Ford SportKa
Many youngsters wouldn't complain if they were handed the keys to a free Ford SportKa but the freshly licenced driver in question was Wayne Rooney. While playing for Everton, Rooney was gifted the car shortly after passing his test. The 94bhp on tap was enough to give him a taste for horsepower as he soon moved onto bigger and better things.
3. Justin Bieber – Range Rover
We've all seen the desperately spoilt antics that go on in MTV's My Super Sweet 16 – a show that follows pampered youngsters around as they demand the biggest birthday parties known to man. Things were no different for pop brat Bieber whose lavish LA 16th birthday bash was topped off with the gift of a Range Rover from fellow musician and mentor Usher. Not bad for a first car.
4. Richard Hammond - Toyota Corolla Liftback
The tiny motormouth was drawn to the Japanese hatchback because, according to him, the front end was modelled on a 1965 Ford Mustang. Quick to indulge his petrolhead passion, Hammond replaced the rear windscreen with one that had an eagle engraved on it. He also painted a Japanese flag on the roof in a vague tribute to the General Lee from the Dukes of Hazzard. But like most first cars, it was written off just outside his house in an incident involving a Volvo.
5. Eric Bana – Ford GT Falcon Coupe
The Incredible Hulk and Troy star still actually owns his first car and that's possibly because it is one of the coolest first cars any newbie could dream of driving around in. The Ford Falcon Coupe was purchased when Bana was just 15 and he quickly obtained his racing licence so he could take it on track. The 590bhp Falcon is now heavily modified and regularly raced in Australia's Hot Rod scene.
