136 passengers stranded as cruise ship runs aground
One hundred and thirty six passengers on a cruise ship which inexplicably got stuck on a sandbank had to wait eight hours before they were rescued.
The German ship, Lady Busum, became stranded near the German island of Trischen after it ran aground.
The passengers were eventually rescued and taken home, but the ship's crew had to wait on board until the tide came back in. They were then able to free the ship and check it for damage.
Speaking to the Central European News, a rescue worker said: "Two passengers were rescued earlier due to medical reasons, and were taken to land for treatment."
An enquiry is underway to determine how the ship became stranded.
