Video: Shark steals 600kg swordfish from fishermen in New Zealand

Updated

A large and, apparently, hungry mako shark has been caught on camera attempting to steal a 600lb swordfish from a group of fishermen in New Zealand.

According to geekosystem.com, Matt Watson and his crew were filming for The Ultimate Fishing Show when they hooked a large swordfish.

But they weren't the only ones interested in the catch, and a suddenly a big mako shark comes out of nowhere to get his pound of flesh.

A crew member can be heard exclaiming: "The shark's got it. That is the biggest mako I've ever seen, bro."

The animal manages to take a bite, but Watson and his team eventually get the swordfish on board after a half an hour struggle, reports the BBC.
