Video: Drink driver crashes into shop
A drink driver has led police on a high-speed chase around Bristol before crashing into a shop window.
In scenes reminiscent of Police, Camera, Action, cops attempted to pull Michael Sterling over for a faulty light, while patrolling in Bristol.
Being over the limit Sterling attempted to flee, driving through residential streets at over 60mph.
He eventually crashed into the front window of a drapers, causing £7,500 worth of damage.
Stirling told the court that he had failed to stop for police as he knew he was over the limit and was scared of losing his job.
His actions cost him dear – as well as being banned from driving, Sterling was also jailed for six months for his reckless driving.
A compilation of CCTV footage has been released, tracking the late night chase around the city. It shows a catalogue of near misses, and also Sterling's hapless blunder into the front of the curtain shop.
