Jose Mourinho's wife and daughter have been targeted by burglars during a stay at an upmarket London hotel.

The former Chelsea manager's wife, Matilde, 47, and their daughter, Tita, 16, were staying at the five-star Wyndham Grand Hotel in Chelsea when thieves managed to steal a laptop from their room.

The pair were in London as Tita has enrolled on a fine art course at the Camberwell College of Arts, according to the Evening Standard.

Scotland Yard confirmed that officers were investigating the burglary, which occurred at 11pm on 27 March.

Mourinho, 50, reportedly flew in to comfort his family upon hearing of the incident.

Xavier Montembault, hotel manager at Wyndham, where rooms can cost £1,044 a night, did not comment on the burglary, but told The Sun: "We take the safety and security of our guests very seriously."
