Staff 'prefer training to pay rise'

Updated:
KFCFew workers would prefer higher wages than more training, according to new research.

A survey of 2,000 adults by restaurant chain KFC found that around one in seven wanted more pay over accredited training.

Most younger workers questioned said they wanted more training.

Martin Shuker, managing director of KFC, which is launching a business management degree course at Leicester's De Montford University, said: "These findings highlight the importance of employers stepping up and supporting their employees in work-related learning."
