Santander 123 Current Account
Santander hasn't had the best reputation when it comes to customer service but with the 123 Current Account the bank is doing its best to give consumers a better deal.

It is a fee-paying account, but for just £2 a month, you can get cashback on your household bills, including one per cent on water and council tax payments, two per cent on gas and electricity bills, and three per cent on your mobile, landline, TV and broadband packages. If you've a Santander mortgage of up to £1,000 a month, you can get one per cent cashback on that too.

Better still, the 123 Account pays one per cent interest on balances of £1,000, two per cent on those over £2,000 and three per cent on balances ranging from £3,000 up to a maximum of £20,000. Plus, if you switch using their Switcher Service, you'll get a fee-free arranged overdraft for four months.

First Direct 1st Account
If you're already banking online, why not switch to First Direct and take advantage of their new customer offer? The bank will give you £100 when you switch to their 1st Account using their Easyswitch service, as long as you've got £1,500 going into the account within three months of switching.

Given their top-rated customer service, it's unlikely you'll be unhappy with the account, but if you're not satisfied after the first six months, they will pay you a further £100, and happily do all the donkey work to switch you to another bank or building society.

Halifax Savers Prize Draw
They might have scrapped their free £5-a-month offer, but Halifax do offer savers the chance to win some serious money. Since 2011, the bank has been running a monthly draw for anyone who has at least £5,000 in one of their savings accounts of cash ISAs, and there are three prizes of £100,000, 100 prizes of £1,000 and 1,000 prizes of £100 up for grabs.

For one month only, they're even boosting that to three huge prizes worth £250,000, so get in quick if you want to be eligible.
