Video: One man's painful way of breaking the ice

AOL Travel

One man has been caught on camera giving a lesson in what not to do when you spot an ice plinth hanging out over a river.

He can be seen tentatively edging towards the end of it, stamping his foot and trying to gauge its strength.

After a few attempts at snapping the end off, he appears to get frustrated by the challenge, and starts jumping up and down on it.

And guess what? The whole thing breaks off and he ends up in a pile next to the river. His friends then kindly uploaded it to YouTube.

Well, that's one way to break the ice...
