Hennessey Performance - purveyors of mad, highly tuned performance cars - have made their mark on the history books, breaking the world speed record for the standing mile with the Hennessey GT.

The Ford GT-based creation managed to reach 267.6mph at the Texas Mile drag racing event - matching the terminal velocity of the world's fastest production car, the Bugatti Veyron Supersports.
