Climber dies on Scottish mountain
A climber has died after falling at the peak of a mountain in the Scottish Highlands.
The Daily Record reports that Glencoe Mountain Rescue team began searching the Bidean Nam Bian peak in Glencoe yesterday after it was reported that a man had fallen near the summit at around 3.20pm.
According to the Daily Mail, rescuers, who were assisted by an RAF helicopter, discovered the body of the 39-year-old man, Northern Constabulary said.
Police said no further information will be released.
The death is the latest in a series of serious incidents in the Scottish mountains in the past few months. In January, four people died in Glencoe when they were caught in an avalanche.
An avalanche in the Cairngorms in February claimed the lives of three people and in the same week a second avalanche killed a hill walker.
