Head-turning looks are usually an expensive option when it comes to purchasing a new car but the Honda Jazz Si manages to seamlessly blend desirability with affordability.

A sub-£15k car rarely comes equipped with attention-grabbing extras such as 16-inch alloy wheels, tinted privacy glass and sporty front and rear bumpers but somehow Honda has managed to offer all this without breaking the bank.

Take a look at the competition, the Ford Fiesta has to be specced up to Zetec S levels to achieve the same kind of sportiness and that package will cost £15,395. A Nissan Micra just doesn't offer the same "must-have" exterior while the Skoda Fabia VRs offers performance but it costs £17,145 and takes aggressive styling to disagreeable levels.

The tantalising exterior additions on the Jazz Si aren't just for show either as it also receives uprated sports suspension, making the ride slightly firmer but much more entertaining when the roads become twisty.

But don't think the added laughs compromise the Jazz's already excellent fuel efficiency. 50mpg is achievable on the combined cycle and the 1.4 i-VTEC delivers its performance without being intrusive.

So, is the Jazz Si the sexiest supermini on the market? A leather-wrapped steering wheel, 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and unique Si upholstery would certainly suggest so.
