Alfa Romeo's stunning 4C is officially revealed

Alfa Romeo's stunning 4C is finally revealed

It has taken Alfa Romeo nearly two years to get their seductive two-seater sports car from concept stage to production-ready but the 4C revealed at this year's Geneva motor show is the finished product.

The Italian firm has slapped a £51,600 price tag on the 'launch-edition' version of the 4C and says that customers can begin putting down deposits now but only 400 launch models will be heading to the UK.
The 4C will get the same 1.75-litre turbocharged engine as the Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde but an extra 5bhp takes total power to 237bhp.

Sticking closely to true sports car DNA, the power will be driven to the rear wheels via Alfa's twin-clutch TCT transmission that is operated by paddles mounted on the steering wheel.

Another exclusive reveal at the show were the exact performance figures, something Alfa Romeo has been keeping close to its chest since the 4Cs inception.

The 0-62mph sprint will take 4.5 seconds and the top speed is said to match its German rivals at around 155mph.

Alfa's DNA switch, which allows drivers to switch between different driving modes – Dynamic, Natural and All-Weather – has also been improved with a new Race mode that also activates a G-meter on the central display.

The launch edition will receive a carbon-fibre bodykit including a boot spoiler, door mirrors and headlight clusters finished in the same material. Plus, darker alloys and front air intakes mark out the car's limited edition credentials.

Pricing for the standard 4C is still under wraps but we can expect to see cars hitting UK roads from September.
