Pictures: Terrifying moment diver gets caught up in shark feeding frenzy
These pictures show the terrifying moment a scuba diver suddenly found himself trapped in the middle of a wild shark feeding frenzy under the sea.
The images, showing dozens of reef sharks piling around the diver, were captured by photographer Andrew Stewart off the coast of Queensland, Australia.
A feeding frenzy occurs when there is an abundance of food - such as a shoal of sardines.
It begins with the sharks thrashing around with their backs arched and snouts raised in attack mode.
The overstimulation can then result in them acting wildly, biting anything that moves, including other sharks and anything else within range.
The divers were lucky to escape with their lives. This week, a swimmer was killed in New Zealand after a shark dragged him underwater in a feeding frenzy.
