Guess what you can't do at Berlin's brand new airport....

Berlin's newest airport may have been hit by many problems recently, but one thing they don't need to worry about is lack of lighting - because it can't be switched off.

The lights burn day and night at Brandenburg Airport - which will eventually become Berlin International Airport - because workers on the site have no means to of stopping them.

Technical director Horst Amann told German news service Spiegel.de: "We haven't progressed far enough with our lighting system that we can control it."

The airport has been under construction since 2005, but has battled with numerous technical glitches including problems with safety equipment.

Sky News reports that the cost of the project has already doubled original estimates, now standing at £3.7billion.

The problems at the airport mean that a date has still not been set for its opening.
