Updated

Two men have died following a plane crash at Arizona's Casa Grande Airport, which resulted in the aircraft bursting into flames.

The men were the only passengers on board the twin-engine Beechcraft King Air plane at the time of the crash on Wednesday morning.

The plane was completely destroyed in the crash, which will now be investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Casa Grande Assistant Fire Chief Jim Morgan told azfamiy.com: "The aircraft made a sudden ascent, then a sudden descent and crashed to the ground where it burst into flames upon impact.

"The aircraft was about 200 to 300 feet vertically in the air, then it made a hard left bank descending into the ground."

According to Tucson News Now, the cause of the crash is currently unknown.
