Got £2million? Private Italian island Budelli for sale

Ever wanted to buy your own private island? If you've got a spare £2million you could become the new owner of Budelli, located 16km off the coast of Sardinia, famed for its incredible pink sandy beaches.

According to the Daily Mail, the paradise island is up for sale after its Milan-based owners went bankrupt.

It is set to be auctioned off to the highest bidder and has been valued at over £2million.

News.com.au reports that Budelli is considered one of Italy's gems and so much so that former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has a luxury villa on the island.

Budelli is a protected island, known for its pink sandy beaches that get their colour from microscopic fragments of coral and shells.

Boats are not allowed to drop anchor within 100 metres of its beaches, keeping the Paps away.

The Italian government has first refusal of the island, but as it is unlikely that the cash stricken state will be able to raise the funds, it looks to go to a rich foreign bidder, Italian news agency ANSA reported.
