Famed tightrope walker Nik Wallenda wowed onlookers on Tuesday when he attempted one of his most dangerous stunts in Florida.

Wallenda completed a high-wire walk 200 feet over a busy motorway in Sarasota, as he battled strong winds and was without a safety harness.

Sky News reports that the challenge, which stretched over route US-41, took him 15 minutes to trek from Bayfront Park to the Marina Tower.

After the stunt, he told the Daily Telegraph: 'That was one of the unique aspects of this walk, is the fact that I was fully exposed to the wind, there were no buildings to block that wind.'

He added that every tightrope walk he does without a harness is 'just as serious as the last', no matter how high the rope.

Last year, Wallenda hit the big time when he crossed Niagara Horseshoe Falls.
