Video: Skier's huge surprise jump becomes a hit on YouTube





A skier filming his friend on Mammoth Mountain in California appears to get a shock when the small jump he was meant to be capturing on camera turns into an enormous one.

The man in the film, Zane Enders, appears to be attempting a small jump, but ends up careering off down a bigger slope and, thankfully, landing safely at the bottom.

Zane uploaded the video to YouTube, and wrote: "Me getting Big Air off of hair jump at mammoth mountain."

His friend can be heard gasping and muttering the odd expletive in amazement at the ginormo-jump.

Mammoth Mountain is the tallest ski resort in California with a peak elevation of11,053 feet.

It has 150 trails, 3,100 feet of vertical, 3,500 acres of terrain, more than 400 inches of annual snowfall, and 300 days of sunshine - and big-jump opportunities, apparently...
