Best value skin creams

We all like to take good care of our skin but many of us simply can't justify paying the high price for luxury beauty products these days. Happily, you don't have to spend hundreds of pounds to look after your skin. Here's our round-up of the best value moisturisers and creams that won't break the bank.

Best value skin creams

Nivea Visage Pure & Natural Moisturising Day Cream (50ml) - £5.35
There are any number of Nivea creams that are well worth their very reasonable price tags, but their Pure & Natural range is our pick. There are no parabens, silicones or colourants - instead there's aloe vera, known for its replenishing properties, and argan oil, a source of vitamin E. This light day cream enriches the skin, leaving it soft and smooth, and provides an intense 24-hour hit of moisture, not to mention being suitable for sensitive skin.

E45 Moisturising Lotion (500ml) - £5.99
As well as the original dry skin treatment cream, E45 now offers a range of moisturising products, from body lotions and bath oils to shampoo and foot creams. Their light daily moisturiser though is perfect for keeping skin soft, smooth and supple. It's perfume-free and allergy-screened so it's ideal for sensitive skin, and easily absorbed. Suitable for the whole body and the whole family.

Dove Indulgent Nourishment Body Lotion (250ml) - £1.99
For deep nourishment, Dove's Indulgent range with shea butter is a budget must-have. This rich cream absorbs easily into the skin and contains their DeepCare Complex, made up of natural nutrients and essential oils to give you long-lasting moisture and velvety, soft skin. And it has a gorgeous, warm cocoa scent too. A bargain for the price and there's a hand cream too.
Simple Regeneration Age Resisting Day Cream (50ml) - £6.59
Containing Pro-Vitamin B5, Vitamin E, mushroom and green tea extract, Simple's colour and perfume-free Age Resisting cream has been a hit for a couple of years now. Even skin tone, a soft, rejuvenated complexion and SPF 15 protection are the result of their moisturising expertise, and though it's a little more expensive than some of our other picks, you'll find a little goes a long way.

Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Skin Brightening Moisturiser (50ml) - £6.66
The soy extract contained in this light-textured daily lotion works to reduce the appearance of blotchiness and evens the skin tone. As an added bonus, light diffusers give your skin an instant natural radiance, while SPF 15 helps to protect against sun damage.
